skip never taken away!

Options
We hired a number of skips from a company that are now not removing the final skip. We have paid them a lot of money already, and it's been about 40 days that the skip was supposed to be taken away. We have been calling them for the past two weeks everyday, sometimes twice or more per day, and all we hear is "we'll pick it up tomorrow". But it's always there, in our front drive. What can we do if they won't remove it? Thanks for any suggestions!

are they waiting on you to pay your final bill before they romove the skip or have you paid it all already?
if they are waiting on money from you they may be keeping it there until you have stumped up?
  • no we have paid for it upfront, on delivery, like all the other ones we had from them

All you can do is keep phoning. They will collect it in the end.

Do they have term and conditions of hire that you can see?
May be something in there about uplift

You could try charging them rent for storing it on your drive;)
  • thanks for the advice everybody, I'll have a look at the contract now!
  • hmm by contract I mean receipt and there's nothing there but their address.

it's quite surreal, everyday they say "tomorrow" and we agree and then it's all a loop. We'll just persevere, when they finally take it away, I'll post an update...

Call up a rival , tell them they can have it for 20 quid.

It will be gone , trust me.
  • Or ring a scrapyard and ask them the scrap value of a skip, then ring skip co and tell them you've sold it for that amount unless they pick it up same day.
