Mint card query

Options
I was wondering whether to cancel this card as I did the 0% ten month thing, now have nothing on the card.....would it be better just to cancel it.

I've had no deals offered since October...has anyone managed to get another deal out of them?

If you do cancel, may be worthwhile mentioning the reason as availability of other 0% cards, they might just give you an extension, or some other offer.
It's always the grass that suffers, irrespective of whether the elephants are fighting or making love !!!
  • Yes I was thinking of ringing them up to cancel, & give them the opportunity to put something or not....if nothing cest la vie.
  • They just gave me 6.9% life of balance on a balance transfer. No good if you are stoozing I agree, but for those of us still getting our debts under control it is a useful help.

So did you ring them up to get that? Mention cancelling?
  • i just rang them up and asked what rate they could offer on a balance transfer.  Didn't mentioning cancelling at all, but if they hadn't come in with a reasonable rate (for me) then I would have threatened to cancel.

edit: I think 6.9% is a fairly standard thing they offer anyone who asks - my husband got 6.9% on his a few months ago.
  • Thanks for that.

deffo worth asking, my 10 months runs out in about 2 weeks, the other week i had a letter offering me 3.9% till august. I did phone and ask if they could do better, unfortunately i think i was speaking to a guy on the verge of suicide so didn't get no joy.

Will ask again when i phone to pay the balance off, if it aint 0% its getting closed.
  • Well MINT offered me 11.9% :-/

I also rang MBNA because my 3.9% deal was due to end, they offered me nothing but the standard rate.

Well I'll move the balance from MBNA elsewhere & wait for the call.
