My daughter has a Lenovo 3000 N200 that came with Vista and only 1GB of RAM... so a bit slooooooooooooowwww! To say the least.
Lenovo manual says its easy to upgrade but looking at the RAM upgrades on the web the required chip prices vary greatly from £17 - £140?? Which to buy??
Am looking to put 2x 2 GB - SO DIMM 200-pin - DDR2 - 667 MHz / PC2-5300 RAM modules in to take the PC up to its max RAM of 4GB.
Any advise on where and what to purchase... Seen a Kingston one for £22.00??

You should be able to get 2gb modules for around £20 like the Kingston One. The laptop will only see 3 to 3.5gb unless your using a 64bit version of Vista.
I use and like Crucial - https://www.crucial.com/uk0 -
2GB module from Kingston @ £21.84 will give you 3GB, which will be enough to make a huge difference. This link will save you 5%, or go through Quidco.

My DD also has the same laptop that came with 1GB on Vista , it was so slow, I put 2x2GB modules in and as the previous poster said you will only show 3GB due to the being a 32bit version. In view of this I would only bother getting a 2GB module as you already have 1GB making a total of 3GB. It is very easy to upgrade the memory, I say this as I was clueless with techie things and it only took seconds to do. There is a huge difference to the laptop with the extra memory.
Heres another link for you http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/-/2164/1431/-/3477790/Laptop-Memory-2GB-PC2-5300-DDR2-200pin-SODIMM/Product.html?searchtype=genre it's the ones I bought and no problems whatsoever.0 -

If you use the Crucial System Scanner, it will check your existing configuration and give you all the upgrade options available.
If you read the link fully, it says that matched pairs are not required. So if you have 2x512MB's you can still add a 2GB module to give you 2.5GB.No free lunch, and no free laptop
