Nat West change of address

I have been trying, with no effect, to get National Westminster Bank to send statement to my new address. Trying for 6 months! At the branch they say I need to show a passport or a driving licence - I have neither.
The Co-Op bank and Barcleycard were simple so why the hassle from the worse run banking group?
Anybody have any ideas how to get this apology of a bank to talk to me and get this straighten out?

Surely they are not asking for anything that you couldn't provide when you opened the account?0

I didn't think they could change your address by you simply walking into a branch - I guess that's why they are asking for ID.
I'm with Natwest and have changed my address a few times in the 17 years I've been with them.
I just write a letter to the BRANCH my account is held at and inform them of my change of address. I include my old address, my new address, and the date I want it to be effective from.
Have you tried that ?
I'm not sure, but possibly you can change your address online? Do you have internet banking?Legal team on standby0 -

I called them on the phone and changed my address. Took 5 minutes.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
I walked into my local branch to change my address a couple monthes ago... wasn't asked ID, didn't even have my NatWest card one me! Just said my name and address, they than changed that address to the new one..
Not good considering I could have been anyone doing that...0 -
Worrying isn't it how easy it is to change your address with some banks! I bank with LloydsTSB and someone changed my address without my knowledge and then applied for a new credit card in my name, which was sent to their address
Luckily they didn't pass the card activation questions when they rang up to activate the card!!

What about a copy of a bill with your new address? Or a lease agreement or mortgage papers? I think i just wrote to them and told them.
