Kilt hire all order recieved wrong!

Hi all
I went to a wedding yesterday and had hired a kilt from a store online that had sent me the outfit the day before the wedding. Unfortunatly my whole order was wrong and the extra's I had paid for i did not recieve. I could not wear any of the outfit as the kilt was far too large im a 32" waist and they sent 36" plus the lenght was far far too long!
Upon calling the company I was greeted by the most rudest woman who would not let me speak to the manager, and then later on she told me the manager was away for a month and that she was in charge.
Basically all I want is a full refund as I did not get what I ordered and also I could not if i tried wear any of it.
The woman on the end of the phone could only laugh at me when I asked for a full refund!
Im lucky that I paid through paypal so I may be covered, but if im not how else can I go about getting my full refund?
I have raised a dispute through paypal.
And I am thinking of maybe holding the whole outfit as ransom untill i recieve my full refund?? Though all they will do is add on late return charges.
Any advice mucho appreciated.

Presumably you have proof you order another size,32 and the size is clearly marked on the one they sent as 36? Risky for you though, only receiving it the day before. How much did you pay?
Maybe the stand in manager has been blandly told not to give refunds until the Manager gets back.
Or ring again and ask the reason they won't give a refund.Tell them they are contravening the Sale of Goods Act.0 -
Thanks, yes I have taken screen snapshots and print outs of my order. Also taken photos of the whole order as I unpacked it since the suit bag was all ripped and covered in brown tape....
I paid in total £57 as its not quite the "full" outfit. I provided my own shirt and belt.
The parts of my order that were wrong were.. (taken from my paypal dispute)
"
I ordered the Prince Charlie modern that your package states has the Cravat Tie, I was ordered to pay the extra £2 for the tie!
The package states the 5 button Wasitcoat, i recieved the 2 button waistcoat!!
I paid an extra £1 for BLACK Hose (socks) and recieved white!!
I am 5"6 and the kilt is far too long! the label inside has printed 36" and someone has wrote 34".... im 32"!!!! which I stated in my order.
The packaging box was damaged, the suit bag is completely torn and looks to be repaired by brown tape...!
I cannot wear anyof this outfit which I needed today, so I have had to purchase a suit elsewhere! I would like a full refund as i have not recieved what i have paid for!

Do they have high street branches?Could you complain to another Manager at another Store?0

You should have gone HERE for your cross gender dressing requirements.Beware of imitations e.g. Robert Sterling0

no need for that!
No they are only one store and come up first in a google search and are cheap.. but i know you get what you pay for when its cheap.. But it did not get what i paid for.... lol0 -
I wonder if they might try to say the "34 " (ie 36) was a 32-340
-
The had wrote 34 on the label that had printed 36. But even with adjustment was far too large.
Ok so now i have spoken with them again and again... The lady keeps arguing.
I escalated my claim with paypal but paypal have refused saying that because i recieved the goods they cannot do anything about the quality of what i have recieved???
AND
The kilt hire company have given me £10 into my paypal account without saying anything to me???!!!
What shall i do now?0 -
You need to write a letter, a real letter not email, explaining all that is wrong and that you would like a full refund, including return postage. Give them 14 days and tell them that you will take legal action to recover your money. What shall i do now?
This known as a letter before action, Google that for many sample letters.
Send the letter by Recorded Delivery.

Thanks :-D
We shall see how this goes0
