how to check the web history on a computer?

Please, can anyone tell me how to check the history on my computer. Thank you. Where do I go? A few instructions please.

  • What kind of history? Internet viewing history?

If so and you're using Internet Explorer 7 then click the star on the very left of the screen about an inch below the "back" button. Then click the third tab "history"

If that's not it then you'll need to give more detail about what you want and what software you're using.

Who are you trying to catch out?

PS. Ctrl + H also works

Hi, it's Mozilla Firefox. Does that help. I will tell you who when you tell me ;). Thank you.

Forgot add yes Internet viewing history of anyone who has used this PC.

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + H

or at the top of the screen to the left there's File, Edit, View, then History.
Click "History" and then fourth down and "show all history"
  • If you need it for anyone who has used the PC, and you're using different log on accounts then it becomes much harder. If it's just one account then see above.

If there's nothing in the history apart from you're stuff then chances are it's been deleted by the previous user.

Just to add I once posted under another username and my husband found my thread. I didn't know how but he must have used the method you showed me. Do you know if times can be viewed in the history please?

In the History (Library) window, View, Show Columns, Visit Date .... other options in that list too.
    Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac ;)
