  • Travelex have consistently given me the best online rate for any currency. You can even pick it up at the airport if you buy online.

I've heard they also give a better exchange rate than M&S but i've never checked this out personally.

Assuming you are going to the US, the best place is the first ATM you meet in the US

I can verify, this my wife got money changed at travelex and got $1.68. I used an ATM with my nationwide card and got between $1.77 and $1.82. Only trouble is bank of america now charge $2 per transaction now last year they didn't. The ATM's in vegas casino's charge $3 but it still worked out better than travelex. This was last week btw.
Nothing to see here, move along.

Beware of trevelex if using a debit card. Make sure it is Switch and not Visa Debit.

    Why?

I have a Barclays Connect Card (Visa Debit) and don't have any problems buying foreign currency with it.
