Windows media Center Problem

Hi

I am trying to run media center on Vista SP2 & keep getting this message.

Application Failure
A critical Windows media Center process has failed. Please restart the computer & try again. If the problem persists, contact your hardware manufacturer for assistance.

I will try speaking to Medion on Monday, but would be grateful for any help now if available.

Many thanks.

medion again, did it work before?
If so run a restore to a time when it did. If it still not work you might need to repair that application, but not sure if its integrated into windows or separate.

You could try deleting recording.xml and recording.bak from C drive then restarting media center

Yes it ran before, but no restore points far enough back. I have not used it for a long time :o

I cannot find it in the Program list on Control Panel, so it must be integrated?

    Final update on the problems.

Stupid me had disabled all Media center services after not being able to receive a TV signal

New aerial now fitted, I went into services & enabled everything again, & it is now working OK :j

Thanks for the advice anyway, but I didn't take into account how dumb I could be :o
