thunderbird help please

I've been useing thunderbird trouble free for a number of years but now it only recieves a small fraction of my emails, i can get the rest through my orange site but its not as good as thunderbird, any ideas? thanks

    I may be completely wrong but, I seem to recall some people having problems with the settings as Orange sometimes alter the pop/smtp settings.

    Worth checking perhaps?

    BTW I also use Thunderbird with no problems.

    Have you changed your firewall recently? Which one do you use?

    In Thunderbird, go to Tools/ Account Settings.

    Then check all the server settings against the ones on THIS page.

    Sorry if this doesn't sort it, I have to go out now.
    Move along, nothing to see.
  • One option is to try Outlook Express (Make sure you tell it to leave a copy of messages on your server so you can still download to Thunderbird later when sorted). If your mail downloads fine in Outlook Express the Thunderbird could be at fault. If you get the same results in Outlook Express as you do in thunderbird, then check your settings on Orange.
