I’d have thought Trading Standards as surely it’s someone trading?

Not that I’ve ever had a useful response from Trading Standards. The biggest bunch of hangers-on, second only to our local Borough Council.

Thanks for the help and a good link.

I know the vendor who has bought a HIP but it is not too good!

Also found this:

Independent Property Codes Adjudication Scheme (IPCAS)
IDRS Ltd, 24 Angel Gate, City Road, London EC1V 2PT
Email: info@idrs.ltd.uk
Telephone: 020 7520 3800

Although the HIPs provider should have a complaints procedure which may have to be tried first, depending on the nature of the problem.

Nope but I have finally had a viewer. They looked at both my house and the identical one around the corner (you remember, the one valued for 35k more). They really like the house and i don't want to speak to soon but I think they may make an offer. Now it will be very interesting to see what the offer is, bearing in mind my rant about the surveyors valuation. Watch this space.
