Rome Ciampino airport to Rome?

Does anyone know how much a taxi from Rome Ciampino airport to the centre of Rome (near the termini station) will cost?

Or generally, what is the cheapest way to do this journey? I know there is a Terravision bus which costs, off the top of my head, about £9.50pp return.

Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

    Hi
I went to Rome and the cab from the airport to the centre of Rome (Termini is quite central) cost us 50 Euros (no meter running), on the way back we flagged a cab in the street and it cost 20 Euros with meter running so if you do get a cab, make sure they keep the meter on. If it's your first time to Rome, just be confident and ask that the meter is on. There were loads of cabs straight outside the airport and we didn't have to wait.

I don't know of other forms of transport in Rome. Have a great time.

    Hope this helps

Theres loads of cabs Kosher and non think we paid 60 euros for 4 of us, I prefer cabs to trains as you see more and the scary driving is hillarious ours insisted on grabbing our map and filling in with a pen all the places to go as he was driving :)
  • We went to Rome a couple of years ago and we took the train from the airport. A lot cheaper than a cab. I envy you. Thought it was the most wonderful city I have ever been!!

The airport is small, you simply go into the main terminal, there is the bus into the centre, it arrives just beside the railway station, and leaves from the same place to go to the airport.

Please note that the drivers would rather eat their own liver than load your luggage, so if you are a little infirm, might be best to arrange to share a taxi.

Personally . I was amazed at the sights, just don't take any tram, pickpockets will love you!

Re shopping, you may be disappointed with their lack of department stores, however, we found a great area, just at the end of the metro, if you want more details, just ask!

20 euro seems very cheap from the airport to Termini station, maybe there was no traffic? If you want to take the train you have to catch the blue bus right outside the airport to Ciampino Railway Station, then train into Termini Station,Rome. The Terravison bus is also outside the airport and goes directly to Termini Station. With luggage the Terravision bus, I feel is a better option.
