Should I ask for proof before refunding? - yes another one !

I posted an item with a first class stamp. Buyer is claiming that the item had no postage on it so she had to pay the postage and then "extra admin costs" - together a cost of £1.47 which she is asking me to refund.
I'm happy to refund such a small amount (maybe the stamp 'fell off'
), however, should I ask for proof first and ask her to clarify "extra admin costs"
Also wondering how far could she take this?
I know its only a small amount but if I refund I will have made a loss on the item (sold item for 99p). I'm not a professional seller, just someone trying to sell my worldly possessions to get out of debt!!!

I would just refund but if your that worried Just ask for a copy of the receipt. They should have got one. Be nice about it and just say you need it for your Tax returns that way it doesn't look like your accusing them of anything. If postage is wrong RM normally charge an extra pound admin so it sounds correct.0

The 'extra admin cost' as your buyer puts it is what Royal Mail charge for handling an item that hasn't had enough postage paid on it.
So, in your case, the item was underpaid by 47p postage. Royal Mail add a quid and the underpay amount, bringing the total to the receiver to £1.47.
It's even more annoying when you get buyers stating they had to pay £1.04 (it's happened to me) for a £2 item with free p + p.10 Ways to Spend All Your Student Loan In A Week0 -
If the amount claimed by RM is £1.47 then it raises the question of why you thought it could go on a first class stamp yet buyer has been charged as a large letter?
To me it seems a bit odd that there appears to eb two things wrong with th epostage.
However, where postage has fallen off I would always repay the buyer in full and then reclaim my postage costs from RM using my COP.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
