Is your fiancee now your parents' carer? If so, it might be possible to look into the prospects of being rehoused as a family, rather than just a couple with a baby on the way0

The council will see you as adequately housed. A tiny baby can stay in your room for at least the first 6 months.
See shelter and ask them for advice.
Could your parents have single beds as an alternative? At least then the lounge is a lounge again0 -
If you live separately, you will probably lose the carers allowance.
this isnt true.
Have you got enoguh money for a bond, then you can take private rented close to your parents on LHA? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

I've been to the first stop to ask for a house and they say it will take a year, or they'll place us in temporary housing within 3 months. I don't want to take my new baby to temporary housing in our area because it is like Beirut, whereas the permanent housing is much better and would at least mean we don't need to worry about being passed from pillar to post.
What makes you so special than anyone else in your situation ? why should be allowed to jump any lists ? why should you avoid the "beirut" like area, yet others have to put up with it ?
If your not happy with what the state has for you, then get a job and don't expect everyone else to provide you and your family with nice permanent housing.0 -

Does your council run a deposit bond scheme which would provide the damage deposit for a private rental and you could claim LHA to pay the rent.0 -
Take the "beirut" option. It will get you into permeanant housing quickest as it will be classed as temporary so give you a priority.
Face it, you can always spend most of the days at your parents and only sleep in Beirut, an option not available to most Lebanese.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
