Cheapest way to post 7" singles? (vinyl)

Options
So I'm auctioning off some old singles on vinyl, you know, the smaller records, and I'm wondering what the cheapest way of sending this so that they don't get damaged.

Thanks!

you can buy record mailers for posting, or try some cardboard cut to size in a jiffy bag. If you are posting more than 1 (job lots etc) a small cardboard box is good. Those 99p shops get rid of a lot of packaging, small boxes etc and that's where i get mine from...:d
    hope this helps!
  • Put them between some relatively thin but stiff card and put that in a regular paper envelope (or buy a envelope made of card - can buy them on eBay!). If they're between card then no need for a jiffy bag. If the overall width is <165mm and weight <100g it's letter rate. Otherwise you're looking at large letter rate. 1st or 2nd class, your choice.

If your selling a lot its worth buying some record mailers. Otherwise you'll spend your life cutting card to fit.

As a regular buyer of 7" vinyl singles on ebay, I find they usually come in a mailer with one or two pieces of cardboard inserted for good measure, plus even a plastic sleeve for rarer items if I'm really lucky!:j

Personally, and I think most collectors, prefer them to be packed as securely as possible, especially if its a rare or expensive item, as pic sleeves can easily get their corners bent in the post. I would also be a bit wary if the postage appeared very cheap.

Although it can be a pain getting hold of free cardboard the mailers themselves can be bought on ebay.
