New stamps query.

As the thread about re-using postage stamps has been removed by the moderators, I will risk asking a question about used stamps. Let me say hastily, that I am not advocating at all that anyone try to defraud the RM.

These new stamps are supposed to make it impossible for them to be re-used, good idea, but how do they work? Just as an experiment I tried to soak one off an envelope as I had heard that they had unremovable glue. Well, the stamp came off easily and even the little circular bits did not come off the stamp! Is there some other super dooper thing to make them unreuseable?

If so should all those sellers who sell unfranked stamps on Ebay be stopped. I suspect that at least some of them get hold of their stamps nefariously, so if they will be caught out by the new super stamps should Ebay stop these sales?

The new fraud proof stamps (and I thought it was only the large letter ones that were changed?) don't appear to be guaranteed fraud proof. I suspect though that while there are people around that are happy to 'push the system' there is actually no way of physically preventing this sort of fraud whatever RM do to the stamps.

AS for ebay, if you see any listings that you suspect are fraudulent or advocate fraudulent behaviour then yes they should be reported.

Likewise if there is any discussion here about reusing stamps fraudulently then no doubt the forum team will wish it to be removed again.
