Problems logging onto Facebook

Hi, Can anyone shed some light on what may be the problem?
I put my email & password & click login but the page won't load up - the message at the bottom says 'waiting for facebook etc' and the progress bar gets up to about half way but thats as far as it gets.
I've cleared all the cookies, cache, temp files etc and it works ok from work so what is going on?? My husband is having the same problem logging in so i guess it must be our laptop??
Every other website we visit is ok!
