Advice please "where do I start"

Both my gas (British Gas) & Electric (Npower) are now out of thier fixed terms and I am on both npower and BG sandard tarifs.

Should I be fixing or wait to see if they drop again or go onto tarifs.

Really confused and not sure where to start.

I live in Bradford (West Yorks) and live in a 3 bed detached with wife and 2 kids (9 & 5) (Not sure if this makes difference to advice.

Any advice would be greatly recvd

TIA

  • Normally (but not always) you will get a better deal if you have a dual fuel, online billing, fixed direct debit deal. Goto a comparison site like www.uswitch.com enter your postcde, current suppliers, tariffs and usage (in KWH preferably as it gives a more accurate calculation) and the site will tell you the best deals. You can apply for many tariffs on uswitch but it is normally better to apply to the supplier via www.quidco.com and get around £60 back for a dual fuel sign up.

Capped deals offer a good option in a rising price market, but at the moment the general opinion seems to be that prices will fall over the next 12 months.
