Can supermarket take money after 2 weeks?
Comments

i to did a shop at morrisons in april for 180 which is for over 2 weeks shopping, and as the origional post states, it took 3 kees to come out of my barclays debit account,
i think its bad as you budget your money and again as above i checked online and nothing, there must of been a problem with both morrisons and barclays that month!0 -
Visa debits (don't know about Mastercard) can come out up to 180 days after you make the initial transaction, from memory. Looks like Morrison's transaction acquirer (in oher words, their bank) was a bit on the slow side here.Everyone needs something to believe in.
I believe I need another beer.0 -
I have had happen to me. I bank with woolwich/barcleys and again same supermarket. Untill 5 mins ago I thought I was the onlt person this happened to. When I went into Morrisons and complained about this I was basiclly told to go away and stop taking up there valuble time with such a trivail complaint. Not even a sorry, I would been happy that.

Well, it is rather trivial in my opinion. If you spend the money you should anticipate that the transaction will leave your account at some point and not spend the money. It may take 1 day or it may take 6 months, but don't spend the money!0 -
I had the same thing with Nandos - a purchase in may appeared on my last statement. But I spent the money, so its up to me to pay it. Plus the chicken burger tasted good.0

The time limit if i remeber correctly can be 30 days but some have been known to debit up to 6 months later. Always make sure you don't spend the money that way you avoid charges.0

The point I was Trying to make is. That yes I spent the money and it is there money. What I am saying is that the money had left my account and wasn't available for spending. But when you look at a mini statment from the cash mechine on a sunday and it shows a cleared fund from over a month earlier it causes confustion and my ended up in the bank trying to fins out what happened.
I now know someone who work in finace at Morrisons and this is very common for Morrisons.

Look on the bright side - the money's in your account earning you interest (or not costing you overdraft interest as the case may be) for longer.Amazon sellers club - member number 63.

I know when I shop in the local Kwik Save occasionally, they take 2 - 3 weeks to take their payment, the one Lidl takes about 2 weeks, yet the other Lidl within a few days. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0
