Converting to Mp3

Hi was wondering if anyone could help me,ive just bought an mp3 player im burning songs onto the computer to then transfer onto the mp3 player.

The problem is the songs arent being transferred onto the mp3 player,i dont have problems putting songs that i have downloaded onto the player.

Would i need to download a mp3 converter programme and then use that?if so where do i get a good application from?

If you have wmp10, this will convert your cds to mp3's. Open up your wmp, go to Tools, Options, Rip music and on this page you can change your Rip Settings to mp3 and you can also choose what bitrate you want to convert them to.
