Private/Business eBay Question???

I have been running an eBay shop for about five months now and have just received an email from eBay saying that they want me to now change my account to business seller (i thouhgt this was already the case, not knowing there was a private and business difference...)
Is it a case of just pressing a button or is there any other implications with changing this that i need to know about?

I started my account as a business one, so not sure about the change over. Think it's quite painless though! It does mean that as a business seller you are subject to distance selling regulations.0

The fees are slightly different and I hope you have informed the HMRC0

On ebay it is usually cheaper to run as a business, but of course as CyberBob says you will need to be paying tax and NI to HMRC.
Just change the account sort under your profile and it should be almost instant.
I'd also just mention that there is always talk on the Ebay seller boards that no one ever gets 'caught' if they use the wrong sort of account, yours is now the second I have heard of this week but I had never previously heard of anyone getting an ebay email about it..I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
