Free (and legal) software!!!

There are a couple of free pieces of software i recently discovered... You will have to search for them on google because i can't post links yet!

The first is a must for all music fans. Spotify offers a program which basically acts as a jukebox, streaming music for free! Its free to register, and the only 'catch' is that it plays a very short audio advert every 20 minutes or so. There are options to pay 99p for a day pass or £9.99/month which removes the ads... And its perfectly legal!

The second is Office which basically is an open, and free version of Microsoft office. It has word processing, spreadsheets, powerpoint etc... and files can be saved so they are Microsoft office compatible. You can also open Microsoft office files in open office too...

I would be interested to know what other people think, and to hear about any other free software...

Spotify and OpenOffice are pretty well-known.

Sourceforge is a popular repository for open source software, so you might want to have a look there for more software. The best thing about open source programs is that the source code is available to examine, modify or debug. Because of this, it's less likely to include malware, assuming enough techies have looked at the code, of course.
