I had a scenic (1.5 diesel) as a company pool car for three months and loved it. Did 10,000 miles in that time and it still felt and looked like new. Very smooth and quiet on the motorway, easy to park and comfy driving position. The rear doors have built in sun blinds for children, and there is a second mirror for the driver so you can keep an eye on ppl in the back!

Dont have children but we did move an awful lot of building materials and stuff about (refurbing house atm) and it is very spacious and easy to get things in and out of the boot.

Average fuel econ was 53mpg (and I do about half and half town and motorway driving).

    Highly recommended!

Alcot - I'm surprised at your comments - the Zafira is a pretty good vehicle, for the use it SHOULD ne put to - the new model even looks modern!!

& Picasso, if it's not old, does certainly have a good following, especially diesel.

& as for future values, well they'll all loose it.....& you've mentioned a FREELANDER as a choice!!!!!!!

    OOOPPPS!!

    Hi Vansboy,

well thanks for the comments, but Zafira....YUK, even the new one smacks of third world build quality (Seen enough of them fall apart already!!)

Picasso, just no BANG BANG BANG that's my head hitting the desk at the thought!

Freelander, the only reason for consideration is the cost i.e. £8000 for an 04/54 plate!

The reliability of them is shocking though - you'd need shares in the AA just to keep it on the road!

It might be worth checking which car seats fit in the Jeep. My Dad has an old one which he uses for work, its M Reg. The back seat belts are set far back making it impossible to put child seats in the back. They do fit in the front however they still don't feel like a great fit.
https://www.britax.co.uk has a fit finder for their seats.
The good point is that you can out your pram in the boot without even folding it!!!!!

Picasso - had one - not very eciting, but good value - lot of car for the money and does what it says it will do. - Not sure what was meant about the comments about loading as the Picasso boot is lower than the Mondeo and easier to get things in and out of as it has better access.

Out of the choices you have made I would go for the C-Max. I have driven a few and they are OK, quite refined and nice quality interior. Not sure how cheep you are getting them, but they are readily availabile in car supermarkets. What Roadster do you have?

I am biased cos I have one and love it but I would recomend a multipla - get the new shape which is bland cf old shape which is 'individual' and you should get a nearly new top of range model for 10k. Get the diesel, get it remaped to 150 bhp for 300 quid and get the brakes / tyres uprated for another 500.
I was looking at a replacement (and after some nectar ponts) and went to look at a c-max - by comparison it was tiny inside (similar outside dimensions) and you do not get to sit high up.
With the multipla baby can travel in front with airbag off but sliding middle seat far back and is too hand to look after if need be and all the back is then available for lugging loads - plus with rear seats slid forwards (leaving adequete rear leg room) boot is large and has no lip.
I know it sounds left field but try one - including driving - you may just be surprised. Honda also do a 6 seater but they are expensive.
    I think....
