Gosh.....I'm absolutely shattered. Only managed an hour's weeding this afternoon.

    Night all.

Pap, I agree with the OU, they're great at support and pastoral stuff, but academically they leave a lot to be desired. It drives me mad that I can't do independent research if I'm interested in things, and the marking seems very slipshod - I got a good mark for an essay where I thought the painting was of Paris and it was somewhere else, and got bad marks for essays which I thought were great. Feedback's poor too. But it's my only option, I can't afford a part time degree at a bricks and mortar uni and can't manage full time. I'm just looking at it as a stepping stone to a masters, I've already checked that OU will be accepted for it. I just need to raise my grades somehow, get it into my head not to disagree with what the books say! (and not leaving them till the last minute will probably help too!)

I didnt like studying with the OU - feel exactly the same as you Ames, thought it was completely inconsistent.

I may do one course - a short one next year to look good on the CV or a little one to get a diploma/certificate thing just to say I actually finished some thing!
    Nevertheless she persisted.

Well, me and DH pulled the carpet up, he got his chisel set, tidied the hole and measured what we needed. He then sent me to B&Q for summink to fill the hole while he finished off. It was the first time I've ever been to B&Q on my own

Anyway, ever the DFWer, I found an offcut for £1 and we fixed it :D

Over 4 years I've put up with that hole, and it took less than an hour to fix

Mind, I did find a piece of the living room ceiling on the floor down here, brought down by the hammering :o

I told him this morning that I found watching him repair our house VERY SEXY (i didnt :rotfl:) so I can foresee Mr Spud volunteering for much more DIY in future ;):D

I still step over it, even though it's fixed. I guess it will take time to get out of that habit :D

my counselling Access course was about £1k for the fees, that was paid by the colleges Learner Fund, and i had to pay for the CRB check, admin fee and the residential weekend.
