Help with looking for winter coat!

I am looking for a winter coat - okay so I know it's not THAT cold but the wind today was crazy and as I popped on my coat from last year it was completely mangled out of shape and too big - partly my fault for wearing it when pregnant LOL and because I have lost some weight since then (from pre-pregnancy that is as well!)

I know what I'm looking for, a wool mid-length belted coat, button up but not double breasted, in a bright red or mid to dark blue. I've been perusing the net and can't seem to find anything that quite fits the picture I have in my mind. This is closest to the shape and length I'm after here (and the colour is gorgeous!) but it's not belted and I'd much prefer it to be.

Does anyone know where I can find something similar but belted?

I haven't bought a brand-new winter coat since about 1998 and I haven't been inside a clothes shop in about five years so I can't help you. The last two winter coats I bought were second-hand on ebay. Sometimes sellers have some lovely, decent quality ones, Windsmoor, for instance. I'd have a look on there first, you might even find a new one

Yup, been trawling ebay - the linky I posted was to a lovely style coat but there's no way on earth I want to pay just under £80! Would be happy to buy something secondhand so going to carry on looking!

I think a lot of places are still getting their winter stock in.Warehouse did a fab coat last year in tartan and they did have it this year in red, it's not showing just now but may come back.

have you tried asda/george clothing, newlook, peacocks, tesco in store,
ive been looking for something like this since last year and have now fallen in love with the boohoo one. if only there was a discount code around!!!

Another alternative might be to head to your poshest, most prosperous neighborhood and trawl the charity shops there. I've found some really excellent-quality bargains that way

I'd say either Ebay or Tkmaxx-both mean you have to look however you can find some great finds:D

Hi mine is from dorothy perkins and i got it last year in the sale think it was still about £40 but i love it, it's black..how sad but i can't wait to wear it again!..it is the same as the first M&S post but has the belt so see if they have some this year..seems to be quite a classic coat each year so you may be in luck..if not in Debenhams they had some red or black not sure of price but loved the red one! x
