Will I still Get It !!!!

2 Years ago I put a claim in through Licit Legal ( now bankrupt ) for bank charges. 4 month later I recieved a part refund ( about 20% of my claim )paid straight into my account. I have read on another thread/forum site that since I was given a part refund and did not decline this I will not be eligible for a full refund. The bank in question is Abbey and they did not contact me about the refund or tell me what it was for, there was just about 20 deposits of 39 quid placed in my account. Will I still get my full refund if the house of lords votes in favour of the customer ??? If not this is awfull as I expect this has happened to quite a few customers. If I put a claim in for 5,000 and they deposit 1,000 without any reason given then they are not paying out what was claimed !!!

If there was no letter with the refund and you have not made any agreement with Abbey then you should just carry on with your claim for the rest.

You should probably do a second full DPA request on the Abbey to find out what happened between them and Licit legal and check you have removed authority for licit legal to act on your behalf - a few bankrupt cmcs are selling /passing the claims on to others to handle - did you get any notification from Licit when they went under?

  • I recieved no letter from Licit Legal, I Googled them and found via various sites that they went insolvent. I also recieved no letter from Abbey regarding my part refund, when I did get my part refund it came straight to me missing Licit Legal, so I had to send cheque to them for their !0 percent. As I said this was 2 years ago, surelly my original claim should still stand. Thanks for your reply. Anyone know If I need to do something, in case I miss out??

Write a letter to Abbey asking for the remainder :) No need to mention Licit.
