Rental Calculator/Advice needed

Hi
I am currently living at my parents, and want to move out on my own. I am 32 and have not always lived at home, was away working abroad for a few years and stayed at mums when home. Then went to uni as a mature student for 4 year and stayed in shared house.
I have living back at my mum's for 3 years since graduating and want to move out on my own, but am abit naive about the costs involved.
Does anyone know of a calculator that would allow to decide whether or not I could afford to live on my own? or a website that discusses all the costs involved?
Any help would be much appreciated.

There are too many variables to answer your question with any accuracy. The costs involved could be as follows:
Rent (depends on area and size/type of property)
Council Tax (see above)
Electricity
Heating
TV license
Telephone line/internet access
Mobile phone
Insurance
On top of all that you have to factor in your travelling expenses to and from work and food/housekeeping before you can afford a pint on a Friday night.
In the first instance it might be less expensive to consider a flat-share rather than renting on your own. In my neck of the woods you'd be looking at about £100 a week minimum plus bills.
Why don't you have a chat with your mother and ask her what her approximate outgoings are?0
