Help! I need advice!!

I have sent a letter to Barclays to claim back my bank charges under the financial hardship rules. They have accepted the claim of financial hardship and have refunded back a few hundred pounds as a "gesture of goodwill" but have said they won't pay out the rest of the claim as it will now go on hold until the ruling has been confirmed.

This doesn't sound right to me.... surely they should sort out this claim in full if it comes under the financial hardship rules rather than just a part refund then putting it on hold????

Should I send them another letter telling them to finish off the claim?? Can anyone advise me??

Thanks

Under financial hardship they don't have to refund any money. So a part refund is valid. The only course you have is negotiating based on the amount refunded against priority debt arrears(mortgage/rent, council tax, utilities).

See above. If your arrears are higher once the refund was paid in then you have to argue that since your situation worsened the charges contributed to them.
However they don't have to pay out 100% of a claim under financial hardship rules.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
