Item purchased not in box when recd!!!**UPDATE**

Bought a nice casio camera of a ebayer on 26th april, on item description it said was coming from london but turns out its from usa, this i am not too concerned with.

Item arrived this afternoon, so ive just opened it up and have got the usb cradle, battery, cables and a manual whats missing i ask you THE CAMERA!!!!!

Now heres the thing, on the top of the box in big red writing it says "do not open if seal is broken" because i was out at work i got the camera sent to my grans house as shes never out and she said the the UPS delivery guy just signed it for her she would never have thought about looking at sticky tape with that written on it.

So i guess iam stuffed and can wave good bye to the £147 or should i kick up merry hell with UPS

Why o why did i decide to buy this off ebay, well i suppose i know the answer to that TO SAVE MONEY!!! Hard lesson learned here:mad:

Think i need a drink!!!

Did your nan open it then? Was the seal broken or not?

I think UPS are meant to be reasonably good. I'd have doubts about the seller... unless you think the package had been tampered with since it left him...?

If the UPS guy signed for her then you must have some kind of come back with them. I'd contact the seller as it may have been an oversight on their part. Mistakes do happen. Don't panic yet.

What was the weight of the item. You may want to go into a camera shop that sells it here and see a display model and ask what the camera weighs and then add that to the initial weight of the contents you received. Then compare it to the weight registered on the parcel. This will let you know if the seller delibrately missed the item out or was the package tampered with. Or do a search for the camera as reviews and see if any are listing the weight of the camera.

I had huge problems a year ago when I bought a mobile phone from Currys. Seemed like deja vue when I read your post !!

We were out, trusted neighbour signed for parcel from DHL in all good faith. Red and white 'do not sign for if tampered with' tape intact on top.......... underneath it's ordinary brown parcel tape. When we looked closely you could see where original security tape had been ripped off and the brown parcel tape applied over the top to re-seal. End result - apparently intact parcel, except the mobile phone was missing.

I rang and spent a merry half-an-hour on the phone to Currys who sent me a label to return them the (empty) box so they could investigate, before they finally sent me a replacement about 3 weeks later. Great 40th birthday present - thought I'd be 41 before I got it !!

When the replacement arrived the box looked dodgy so checked before signing and all was in fact well - but still think someone had had a peek at some stage before it arrived at our house.

Obviously some sort of scam - whether at the warehouse or with the courier I don't know - maybe both !! Real pain for the consumer, though. Thought I was getting a good price for the phone I wanted from Curry's online - might have viewed it as more expensive if I'd considered it would take nearly 4 weeks and a hike in my landline bill...... !

I bought a job lot of items and one was bought by a buyer in Italy. It wasn't until I got to Post Office that I thoght..."this box feels light". All the accessories were there but no item!

Would I have believed the buyer? I don't know, but I was very relieved that I discovered it before I posted it out.
