I have just transfered from AOL to plusnet and I was using a NETGEAR DG834G v3 router which worked great (it was provided by AOL).
When I went typed in http://192.168.0. 1 to access the router with the default username and password printed on the back on the router it didn't work, so I wasn't able to change the router settings to plusnet.
I had another NETGEAR router which I bought for my mum but couldn't get it set up at her home (DG834GSP v3) and that worked fine.
Could AOL have done anything to the router? or can anyone explain why it doesn't work.
The new router (DG834GSP v3) or the new ISP PLusnet is slow and my signal keeps dropping out, but I just can't get the old one to work??
I am using Windows Vista
Any advice.????
Thanks in advance

Try doing a hard reset on the router, push a paperclip into the reset hole and hold for 10 seconds, you can see the reset hole on the back of the router here:

You should then be able to log-in to the router and apply the new settings.0 -
Thanks for that. I had pressed the reset but I hadn't pressed it for 10 seconds.
THANK YOU!! -
Sadly I have just run a speed test and it is no better.
