printer ink help!

Might be in the wrong place but looking for help with my printer. It is a Dell A920 and the ink is ridiculously priced, so i read a forum on here and discovered lexmark ink worked as well in this printer. Previous threads said lexmark 16 and 26 were compatible. Now this might be my mistake as i ordered a remanufactured lexmark ink cartridge to put into my dell printer. It fits fine but will not print anything, just blank pages. Can anyone help???

Sounds silly I know but have you removed the tape across the print heads at the bottom?

from memory there is some tweak needs made to make the lexmark carts work.

    Have you tried googling it?
  • Thanks for replies,

I have removed the ink covers. I read the threads involving removing a tab in the printer cover or on the cartridge but i didnt need to do either as the cartridge that came was identical to my previous remanufactured dell cartridges and fitted just fine. I am concerned that it is a communication problem and that my dell printer can not instruct the lexmark cartridges i.e. a problem with the electronic plates on the back of the cartridge. Sound possible?

    Any more ideas???
