Hi, i'm brand new to the forums. I'm posting to ask if anyone knows about the Energy Trust Fund. I am 22 and I have cancer and my husband has been made redundant.
Our direct debit for gas and electricity was set at £60pm and we went without a meter check for 13 months then in decmber last year recieved a bill for £2190. After many meter tests it was found to be accurate and I know i was silly not to give my meter readings but health got on top of me. I am now stuck at £164 per month and I cannot afford it. Does any one know of anyway I can get help? Do the energy trust fund help.
Sorry to bother you.
Thanks

I don't know much about them, just theat although the money comes from British Gas, the cahrity is independent.

Can't hurt to try them though.
You may find a similar thing with your water compnay too0 -
I would also call and ask to be put through to the Essentials Care team as there may be extra support they can offer.
The British Gas Energy Trust can help with bills including water bills and some others. You will be able to download a form at www.britishgasenergytrust.org.uk
I have known many customers to receive help so try and see.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0
