Advice - want to sell item on ebay but can't find how much it's worth :S

I have a reasonably good condition operating manual for a signal generator (TF 2015) made by the British company Marconi Instruments. It is dated as Issue 1, Oct. 76 and there seems to be interest in these items still. It was used in a radio base in Gilnahirk (East Belfast, Northern Ireland) which is now in the process of demolition.
I don't have a very big interest in such items but this is a very interesting article and would be useful to either an owner of such signal generators or people interesting in British technological history.
The trouble comes when I am nearing the end of my clearout and want to sell this item but have no idea whether it's worth anything or if I should just sell to cover ebay costs etc? Any help much appreciated!!

Unless you have any memorable numbers in them, your best bet is a charity shop to be honest. The O2 sims were posted out in huge numbers, and often have an expiry date on them as well.

If you list them on ebay, you'll be lucky to get a 99p bid on them, and I think that is one of the mandatory free P&P categories.

sold sims for just over a fiver for the lot, just covered P&P but glad to get rid of them and hope someone gets a bit of use!
As for the manual, 1 bid of £5 on it so far...

Free listing day on Sunday - stick it on for an amount your would be happy to get and see what happens. Nothing lost if it doen't sell.

I'd be careful about the wording you use about keeping proof of posting. I'm sure you only put it there for buyers peace of mind but some buyers may interpret it to mean that you don't refund in cases of loss. Never give a buyer anything to worry about.
