yes, it's an absolute beginners question. Most of my radio I listen to live, or catch it on the Iplayer. However, I really want to listen to Richard Herring and Andrew Collins' show, which is only available online, as a podcast. How do I download it, and what software do I need to play it?
thanks already!

Anything which will play an MP3 file: Windows Media Player, Apple iTunes, WinAMP, pretty much any audio software available today.
If you have, for example, iTunes, you can subscribe to the podcasts (you can also with other software) and new episodes are downloaded to you when available.0 -
A podcast is a web feed (such as RSS) that provides access to audio files. The files are usually mp3s, so can be downloaded and played on most portable media devices or on your PC.
The top link on the following web page is just a normal mp3 file, so you should be able to download it and play it with most media players (such as Windows Media Player or Video LAN Player):

Hope this helps...0 -
at the website, http://www.comedy.org.uk/podcasts/collingsherrin/
right click on the text that says "Download Podcast 80" then select save file as... (or save link location as) and navigate to a folder on your computer you want to store it in.
After that it's the same as any mp3. If you double click on it, it will probably start playing in Windows Media Player. Or drag it across to a portable mp3 player.0 -
I personally use Winamp, and it automatically downloads the podcasts as and when they are released. When I connect my MP3 player up with with my machine, they are then synchronised with that. iTunes does the same thing if you have an iPod. There's nothing stopping you listening to your podcasts on your computer either.
