Credit Card Refund More Than I Paid?

Not an EBay question but hopefully someone will know the answer on here.

Bought a fleece online from a small retailer. He called to say he didn't have it in stock but would supply the "jacket" version. Needless to say there has been a total kock up and I have received a hoodie...argh.

Anyway needless to say I don't think I will suit a hoodie so I have arranged to return it.

My question is can a retailer refund more than the price I paid on my CC to cover my return P+P? Or is similar to PayPal and Amazon wher maximum refund is original amount paid?

I don't think they have anything else I want so a replacement will probably not happen. I probably don't really have the energy to have a full on ding dong with them about it but if they can cover my return P+P easily that would be nice.

  • As I understand it they can only refund the amount that you've already paid.

Thanks for your replies. So Pratty are you saying you have refunded more?

I just have this feeling that if you could refund more there is the potential for huge fraud somewhere, so I'm not holding my breath.

As for Conor he had his faults but was at least he was open and straight talking. Not like some of on here nowadays.
