Sorry people have had problems with this.
I got mine in Debenhams Chelmsford on Saturday.
Just said I'd had an email from the beauty club saying if i showed my card, they were giving out a mascara sample/ night repair and no problems whatsoever.
Even got one for my Mum who wasn't with me when I asked at Clarins. EL couldn't give me same pack as specific to card holders but gave me some extra samples instead.
pippitypipI know I'm in my own little world, but it's ok - they know me here!0 -
Thanks but I tried asking, I was told I would get one if I bought "anything from the beauty section". Not given away free for me
You totally shouldn't have been told this, it's not true! I work in Debenhams and we have been giving them away free to customers since it started. We even had them on the counter at one point for people to take away, even if they weren't buying anything. If you have no luck with one till, try another or ask them to double check with a manager - don't let them fob you off!
There's also a promotion on at the moment where if you register your card before 19th Sept (I think that's the date) and then buy any skincare or beauty product, you'll get a free £5 reward credited in your October statement - not a no-spend freebie obviously, but if anyone is making a purchase anyway it's worth remembering!

Went to Debenhams in Westfield today and they flatly refuse to give out samples on any of their counters even if you have the mini makeovers like I had for the Estee Lauder stuff.. Also the bare essentials or somesuch are advertising in the press get your free brush and sample of powder... they hadnt even heard of this offer on that counter.
Exact same happened to me in Westfield, I asked about the samples and instantly their faces dropped as if to say 'Urgh not again' ... they were rather rude to me, even though I'd bought a £20 foundation from one of them ... I don't think I'll be shopping there for makeup again :mad:This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Will be trying this next time I visit:
Jenniewb: could I please have a beauty card?
Staff: No, only if you buy something.
Jenniewb: Oh, thats a shame, can I have your name please?
Staff: Why do you need my name?
Jenniewb: Well when I call up custimer services to tell them they are wrong and you are not giving the cards away free- which is what both they and the website say, (show print out) I need to know who told me they were wrong.
Good one hehe :rotfl: .... After reading all the posts I feel its going to be a mission getting one at all but I am going to try Oxford Street Debenhams tomorrow! I will report back what kind of mischief I get up toTake a breakHave a Donut

I have Emailed Debenhams and asked them what the exact policy is (pick one up free or purchase and get one) by the time I get their reply it might be too late for this freebie but hopefully there will be some in the future, will let you know if they reply.
Email sent by Debenhams today
I can confirm Beauty cards are free and that no purchase is required to obtain one.If you don't get what you want today maybe the Postie will bring it tomorrow. :j:j:j0 -
Got my free mini mascara and 4 free samples of the Estee Lauder cream from Glasgow Debenhams when I showed them my card
Also got a free box of chocs, mini perfume/aftershave samples and bottle of cava as I registered with them to do my wedding gift list, and it was a special promotion this weekend that if you signed up to the mailing list you got those freebies.

I managed to get a card yesterday with no purchase, lady I asked said I did need to buy something, but she went off to check and was told no purchase necessary.
Today I went back with a print out from the first post, got my mascara and 7 sachets of the night serum.
Thank you very much for posting, quite like the mascara, may even buy it!!0 -
Picked a card up no questions asked today in the Carlisle store. Both my Mum and I asked for one. Also got the mascara and night repair no problem. Mascara is really good size0

Just seen this thread.
I was in the Oxford Street Branch tonight and asked the lady on the till at the back of the ground floor about the card. She told me that I had to buy a skincare or cosmetics product to get one (Which I thought was wrong from reading the masses of Beauty Club signage everywhere) so went to the Clinique counter, looked a bit lost and the SA happily handed one over to me, telling me it was free and if I registered it online I would get £5 on it.
There are some nice SAs out there, it's just trying to spot them!0 -
Finally got these yesterday. My local Debenhams arent as stuck up as Westfield. What Would Bill Buchanan Do?0
