Free Clarins mini mascara and Estee Lauder samples (Debenhams [free] Beauty Club)

Just went to get a card today. The middle aged assistant at the perfume counter refused to give me a card and insisted I could only get it if I bought something. I tried to push it, but she was having none of it.

So I walked away and asked the sales assistant at another counter instead. She was much nicer, and gave me a card no probs!

Only problem was, I couldn't remember what the free samples were, so have had to check on here :rotfl:- though I have activated my card online to get my £5 bonus. Apparantly it doesn't show up til October - ideal for help with Xmas.

I have Emailed Debenhams and asked them what the exact policy is (pick one up free or purchase and get one) by the time I get their reply it might be too late for this freebie but hopefully there will be some in the future, will let you know if they reply.

was in Preston branch today and got this new clarins mascara, had a look at fool size and it think i will like it a lot...
and on eastee lauder counter got tiny tube of eye cream and 7 samples of new night cream, so i can try them all now...

I mention first i got this email for bueaty card holder and on claris i showed my card but on el SA wasnt even looking just gave me these samples...

Went to Debenhams in Westfield today and they flatly refuse to give out samples on any of their counters even if you have the mini makeovers like I had for the Estee Lauder stuff.. Also the bare essentials or somesuch are advertising in the press get your free brush and sample of powder... they hadnt even heard of this offer on that counter.

Tried to get the card yesterday and told had to buy something. Went in today with print out from website. They have definately all been told you have to buy something. Anyway managed to get one free. As for the bare essentials stuff yesterday 2 girls were wandering around my town with these but seemed to have been trained to avoid eye contact as I passed by 3 times hoping to get approached and failed to be even noticed. May ask on counter next time now I know what they had hidden in their bags.

Will be trying this next time I visit:

Staff: No, only if you buy something.

Jenniewb: Oh, thats a shame, can I have your name please?

Staff: Why do you need my name?

Jenniewb: Well when I call up custimer services to tell them they are wrong and you are not giving the cards away free- which is what both they and the website say, (show print out) I need to know who told me they were wrong.

try getting one from the mens department...that's what i did ages ago when there was a similar offer on; they're usually lying around near the tills or with the gift cards.

I tried to get one for my daughter yesterday from clinique counter "you have to buy something and we will give you one"
so went to perfume counter and asked there "oh of course there you go, just register it online"
Enough said.

PS Clarins counter no chance of a sample and very unhelpful young girl, estee Lauder couldn't be more helpful and gave lots of samples (this was in Bolton)
