Stamp duty after Xmas

Yeah, I suppose that will also screw over the blues more as there will be less money available. Allbeit an insignificant sum compared what is already wasted. Or do they just spend everything quick at the end of their term, like a government branch just before next years funding is assessed?
I can tell I'm sounding quite bitter now, but I can't help it. I'm a poor kid from the late 70s, I'm not supposed to want anything but a labour government!0 -
I would actually be surprised if they do extend it. The Tories are bound to go with the poor state of the public finances in the election, and if VAT and Stamp Duty are back to normal at least the government can claim they are beginning to get things back under control.
But at the same time it means more taxes, an instant crowd displeaser regardless of how essential it is. Face it, the vast majority work off soundbites. More tax bad, less tax good - the consequences are irrelevant. Its obvious we're boned, the only saving grace is so is everyone else. If they weren't, we'd be shunned like a vegan at a hog roast.
Actually, potentially stupid question, but where is the money? It doesn't evaporate, surely there is as much actual currency now as always? More in fact, with QE. So whats happened?0
