 GNC are Part of Holland and Barrett (for those who do not know they are a chain of stores selling Sports Nutrition products)
Last week they sent out an Email offering heavily discounted Sports Nutrition products items that they normally sell for £40.00 were on offer for as little as £9.99 plus delivery.
As a bodybuilder I spend a large amount of money on health supplements, things like Whey Protein, Aminos, ect... Placed an order which was accepted and my money was promptly deducted from my credit card. - They then send an Email acknowledging the order and stating that delivery would take up to 14 days.
- The 14 day delivery thing is pretty poor for such a large company other sports nutrition companies offer same day dispatch up until 3pm.
Today, the following email landed in my inbox

Dear Customer
I write to advise you that your order, has been cancelled. Such was the offer, that all stock has been exhausted, and no further stock will be available for the duration of this promotion
A refund, where applicable, has been raised and I apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Kind Regards

I am not an idiot I understand supply/demand but surely a company of this size would a) Have a system that links avaliable stock to orders being placed online, thus, removing the ability to order item when stock is exhausted.
b) Be slightly quicker off the mark, it took them 7 days to decide the item was out of stock!
A number of guys at the Gym also tried to take advantage of the offer- they too were told the offer items were out of stock days after the money was taken.
There are plenty of other sites out there selling Sports Nutrition stuff, with a faster response time, GNC - Up your game!

Laughable Customer Service!
My two line Email response to GNC in response to them cancelling my order.
Really dissapointed and disgusted at the length of time it has taken you to deal with this and doubt very much if I will use GNC again for anything.
The reply from GNC

Thank you for your email.
I have checked with our bank and they have advised me that no monies have been on this occasion. Sorry on this occasion I have not been able to respond in a more positive manner.
