I ordered 6 t-shirts from play.com as OH forced me to start Christmas shopping early. Yesterday morning my postman staggered to my door loaded with 6 boxes. Each T-shirt had been sent in a box the size of a video player! The other thing is that that my council won't accept cardboard for reycling and give me a tiny bin they empty twice a month for my rubbish and these boxes are taking up a huge part of my bin!
Wouldn't it be cheaper for play to send these items seperately. I can understand if something is not in stock but it seems madness sending 6 items in 6 seperate boxes when all 6 items could fit in the one box!
Apart from that play do give great service and considering I ordered them Tuesday they arrived very quick!

They do it because you have to pay VAT on items over £18. Although the cost of multiple t-shirts may have come to under £18 their whole packaging system is geared up to send each item separately to avoid VAT having to be paid.0 -

I've ordered clothes from play.com and they arrived promptly. Great service."Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?" (Douglas Adams)0

They are good, I've used them a lot, I got my Good Housekeeping cookery books from there. :cool:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

I ordered a T Shirt from Play.com, and it too was sent in a huge cardboard box - just so it could be folded nicely inside. :rolleyes:Male.
