eBay-canceling a sale *after* an item is sold

  • Just wanted to add that the 'problem' with Germany and perfumes is that Germany will only allow the import of perfumes that are fully boxed. There is no problem with used perfumes, but they must be in their original packaging. Unboxed testers are not allowed to be sent to Germany. This is an internal German law, nothing to do with EU laws.

Now, the really curious part of this, is that it is Ebay who are policing this, because it simply does not arise as an issue outside of Ebay. I do not know how often they actually contact sellers to tell them to pull listings that ship to Germany. Probably hardly ever - judging by the number of listings that state they will not ship to Germany, but could do so, perfectly legitimately (items boxed and even sealed). I can only assume this is simply sellers copying what other sellers are doing.

However, this could be a genuine get-out clause for the OP, and certainly something to bring up when contacting Ebay.

I'm not sure where you get the info that ebay are policing this, they certainly don't have any policies in place to assist sellers with local 'issues'. In this case it it the OP that is aware of the issues and has declined to post, nothing to do with ebay at all.
