Do not believe them if they tell you that they will return documents via recorded or registered post. I was concerned that they wanted original and irreplaceable documents but was assured that if I sent them in via recorded delivery that they would return them by the same. I spoke to them today and they say they were sent back 2 weeks ago by 2nd class post and no documents are sent back recorded delivery only passports as they are the only things that are considered important (not birth certificates, marriage certificates etc). They told me that I should visit my local sorting office to ask if they hadn't delivered the letters. I fail to see why they need original documents and not certified copies as they are good enough for all other financial institutions.0

Had a good first year experience when my eldest went, then in his second year his brother went to uni too. Then it went pear shaped. They have plucked income figures out of thin air, overpaid them grant, now claiming it back. Have just got back from moaning to my MP about how flawed the whole process is. If they could send calculations out to the sponsors(parents) of how the loans were calculated, then we could tell them when they have c*cked it up! As soon as you have more than one in the family at uni then it seems to get complicated.Total weight lost 6.5/73lbs starting yet again. Afds August 10/15. /8 Sept.0

i know this is an old post, but student finance england are doing my head in.
i wasn't going to go back to uni and as such, didn't send my forms off earlier. i decided in august to go back.
i posted my loan forms off in august recorded delivery and i've misplaced (read: lost) the tracking reference. it was, however, received and signed for as i checked it at the time.
i heard nothing and then eventually rang them to find that they claim they never received the documents and deny all knowledge. i had to re-apply online on 16/9/11 (when i rang them). now 3 weeks on, i'm being pestered by my uni finance office and my landlord for money. just rang student finance england and they've told me to phone back in 4 weeks to see what they can do for me.
i know they have a lot of applicants, but does it really take 7 weeks to process an application?helpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
In August? It can do.
That's why it's better to apply early and cancel, rather than apply late. In August, you have a lot more paperwork to process, due to childcare, DSA, course changes etc.0 -
First year. Applined when applications came opened. Sorted bit slow at first, but as soon as I photocopied my passport etc. everything went through ok. Payment was delayed, but was expecting this as banks are gay.
What, pray tell, do you feel it is that specifically makes a banking institution homosexual?0
