HSBC- hardship makes no difference

Ed had nearly £800 taken in a year in bank charges, he was extremely ill in Jan last year and was hit with another £150. We both went to the local branch to say can they wait until he was back at work for the money to be taken from his account. He was told they would reduce it by £50 if he signed to say he wouldnt ever reclaim his bank charges! I took the money from my credit card in cash and paid it into his account. He was made sicker because of the worry and the lack of good food as he had no money. He is fine now but they wont give him a refund as they say he isnt in hardship. I believe this is almost blackmail. Anyone else had this suggested?

Thats a massive breach of the waiver and the FSA should be told. centralwaiversteam@fsa.gov.uk
Unfortunately hardship is based on your current circumstances. But when he was in hardship and they refused to help that should be complined about to the FOS, soI'd take your hardship claim to the FOS anyway.LegalBeagles0
