We also outside our house to get to the street there is a path which run down our side and his drive runs down his .He has taken to parking on street over path and drive way .Last night as i could not get out because of his car down our path i had to walk over his drive. We had a heavy amount of rain ,he has a oil leak on his car i fell over at five months pregant its not the best thing todo.

As hes now parking over the path its right next to my bedroom window he must come and go sometimes 10 times a day starting from around 6am and its a diesal its driving me mad.
Ive had to spent afew nights in hospital they let me out on a saturday night sunday morning at 7.00am hes vaxing his car out i just sat and cried.

Hes not the sort of person you could approach and ask not to do im not sure what to do or if its just me being over the top about it any help would help at min

    Move?

    Does he rent?
Is he running a business from home?

If he's blocking the pavement there's nice people at the council to deal with that, and the noise issues but will that make things worse?
  • Yes we have been looking to move but in our area there nothing to rent/out of our price.
We know the neighbour before he moved in and know he never seems to stay very long before he moves so fingers crossed.
Will get in touch with council as its double yellows outside the house but think if we say anything about noise its going to cause troble eg. (BRICK IN WINDOW)

It sounds to me as though you are taking this a little too much to heart, maybe because you are pregnant and need your sleep and might be more easily disturbed.

I do hope that he moves soon, though, and not next door to me if you think his response will be a brick through the window!
  • Does he live on his own, does he have a female partner and children.
If it was me I would try to talk to the female, ask her how her pregnancies went, tell her you have been in hospital and you're scared. Tell her that falling over because you could not get passed the car etc has worried you even more. She may then realise what a pain they are being and get him to move the car and behave off her own back.
I sometimes find that having people like that as aquaintances is better than having them as enemies.

Were you hospitalised because of your fall? Perhaps you should speak to a solicitor about suing him for his car spilling oil?
  • no he lives on his own.I did think i could be taking it to heart but the neighbours over the road have made comments on it too.
  • I did go to hospital last night as i hurt my back.Baby is fine just have very sore back today and a numb leg.

I'm glad the baby is well. You need to reduce stress levels. So why not have a chat to the midwife and see what she can suggest? She might have some ideas for things to do to keep you out the house (Although they always tell you to rest!) or suggestions as to who to speak to about neighbour. Plus it'll be good to talk it through with someone in person.

Do you think your partner might have a polite word? If he knows you have fallen and that you haven't been able to get out of your driveway and you are scared due to the pregnancy he might be a bit more considerate. You could also let slip that you are struggling with your sleep and sensitive to any late or early noises at present. That way you aren't putting blame on him, more asking for help. If he's halfway decent I am sure he'd make the effort.
