Still getting MSN IM's even though I've signed out?

Folks
When I sign out of my MSN instant messenger I still recieve msg's from people on my buddy list and is quite concerning!

It looks like I'm still signed into msn and so they can IM me... is there anyway out of this??

Are you running the latest MSN Messenger? I think its v7.5 now....

Also, after you sign out, right click on the little MSN icon next to the clock and click exit. This will completely close down the application.

If you still get IM's after that then I'd just run away.....

I think Windows Messenger maybe running in the background, automatically signing you in, happened to me sometimes, uninstalled the !!!!!!.

You can't be signed in using MSN Messenger and Windows Messenger at the same time with the same e-mail address.

I don't know why its happening anyway.
    I'm better off without you.

windows messenger has a habit of signing you in without being prompted so double check if it's msn messenger or windows before ruling out keysersoze's theory.

To uninstall windows messenger click Start >> run and copy and paste this in and click ok

    RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Are you sure it's people on your buddy list in MSN Messenger, and not spam messages using the "Windows Messenger Service", something completely different?

I have said this before there are two types of Windows Messenger, you will not be spammed through the .NET Passport Windows Messenger although it is an anoying program and I belive that it is being removed in Windows Vista (at last)! I think you have been signed into Windows Messenger when you have signed into MSN Messenger, so just uninstall it like jamesybravo said
  • thanks guys it wont let me paste the freakin thing lol
