Could I be pregnant?

Could I be pregnant? OH and I have been trying for just 2 weeks, I’m a week late and for some reason I’m dreadfully tired all the time, well these last 4 days, I could fall asleep on a knife edge. I have had some spotting a couple of days ago (and I’ve thought maybe it’s a bit of implantation spotting) but nothing since. No periods but some (and this is hard to describe) prickling in my tummy, definitely not cramps.

I’m not sure if I’m imagining it or if its wishful thinking or what but just wanted to garner opinion about if I should take a test or not.

  • Yes you could be pregnant - take a test :)
  • Are your periods always regular? If so, then being a week late is likely that you are pregnant, unless you are stressing alot?
The tiredness is also a good clue, my friend was so tired when she was first pregnant that she fell asleep on the stairs on her way to the toilet:rotfl:
Go do a test and let us know how you have got on

If you have been trying for 2 weeks, and you are a week late, then I am not sure - assuming you have 28 day cycle, and ovulating in the middle of he cycle, lets say around day 12-16, then it is not very likely, as the egg doesn't survive for very long. So, if you started trying from day 21 of your cycle, it is rather unlikely you conceived, unless you ovulated much later in this cycle for whatever reason...

  • The only way you can know for sure is to take a test. But try not to get your hopes up, just starting to try to conceive can play havoc with your emotions/ feelings and periods!!

2 weeks ins;t very long to be trying for and as the post above mentions it may be that you weren't trying when you last ovulated.

Do let us know how you get on though, and there is a thread for those tryting for a baby so maybe join in there as there are lots of knowledgeable ladies who can offer advice, then maybe we can see you soon the pregnancy thread!

I had the prickling sensation in my lower tummy too on both my pregnancies - in fact I knew I was pregnant with my 2nd about a week after conception because of this.

The midwife said it could be the increased blood flowing to the womb

I would say you probably are!! Congratulations!

I had the 'prickling' with my DD too, and knew from about a week- Plus I had awful morning sickness too! She was conceived very late in my cycle too, so anything is possible. We tried for 2 months for DD and I had always had a 28 day cycle the 2 months we tried for my cycle was 32 days which is weird and got my hopes up a bit, but I would def do a test to be certain!

Sounds like you are though! :D If not then look forward to more trying! :D Go pee on a stick lady! x
  • if your period is late you need to take a test, everyones symptoms are different, you mayof just convinced yourself that something is different.

    best of luck.
  • do the test and good luck
  • Thanks ladies, I'm off to see Mr Tesco about a testing kit and will do my thing tomorrow morning, hope I am, it'll be the best birthday present ever. Fingers crossed (and hope it's not all in my head) xx
