no sound in my browser!!

i've lost the sound in my browser! anytime i'm on a webpage where there should be sound eg music, film etc, i have total silence. this is with internet explorer and firefox. i have no idea why, if i've done something or other, can't work it out. still have sound when i play music, listen the radio via bbc website for example, can still watch clips of the news on the bbc website for example, so my soundcard and speakers are ok.

does anyone have any ideas/suggestions?!

any help would be appreciated!

This happened to me a while ago. Another programme had pinched default for certain media files. Found when I went into Windows Media Player and chose it as default that the problem was fixed. Not sure that all programmes are configured to interact with inter explo.

    Try this, with IE

Goto tools, internet options, advanced tab, scroll down to multimedia section.

Tick the play sounds in web pages. It may be already ticked though....

Restore defaults at bottom might work....
