Paypal 'Wizz'??? Please read...

Hi all,

Pretty savvy when it comes to this kind of stuff but i have met my match with paypal and it would be great if someone could help.

As i intend to make large and more frequent purchases through paypal(mostly, loading my paypal top-up card with my amex 'through paypal'),
I have requested to remove my initial limits set. To do this i have had to verify a bank account which i have did correctly, however when completing this(by confirming with paypal the small deposits made to my bank account) paypal informed me that this would be my default method for funding transactions. I certainly dont want this to be, i want it to be my AMEX.

I have now noticed that since i have verified my bank account with paypal, it has gave me the option to link my credit card(AMEX) to my paypal account. This option was not available before hand. It suggests doing so to life limits which i had thought has already occured by verifying a bank account. I have opted to link my card -they are going to wothdraw a £1 from my Amex and then i confirm the transaction with a code when it appears on my statement... hopefully soon!!

Anyway, as i want me AMEX to be my default(& only) source of funding yet i also want my limits lifet i am wondering what i should do?? When my Credit Card is linked do i delete my bank accout? When making topping up the paypal topup card does it give youa choice of how to fund this or will it take straight from my bank account? There is no way on paypal to make my AMEX the default funding choice. I would lremove the bank account but i dont want limits to be applied again.

Id appreciate any help and advice for those that this makes sense to. It realy would be great

Don't quote me on this but I think you need a bank account linked to your account.

Having said that it shouldn't be a problem, when you use PayPal you will be asked which method to use for payment, they will try to default to bank account but you just need to override this and reconfirm that you are really sure. They seem to try to default to the cheapest option for them.

    Does that help?
  • Anybody else linked there Credit Card to there paypal. Seems like a hassle, im waiting on a code that wont come untill my Credit Card statement and i think its frozen temporarily untrill this code in entered and the card is confirmed/linked. Dont see the benefots to this?? What are they? All i wanted was my sending/purchase limits lifted which i think they have as i have already confirmed my bank account.

    so confusing.

You have to link a Bank account to paypal to have your limits lifited. You can stll register a credit card to pay from though. Also make sure that you have lifted all your limits including the yearly £1700 one. As if you don't that one is a !!!!!! to lift after the fact
