router password question

probably a stupid question but forgot the router password (network security key), its a sky one and cant get it to show characters just the * is there a way of finding out what the password is or resetting it.

I seem to recall that the default user id is admin and the default password is sky.

** That's if you have not already changed it.

This is the router login password that you have forgot ?

If you have forgot the router security key (WEP or WPA) then you should be able to reset the router to the defaults settings.

Just found this via a google search, do not know if it works or not:

Someone else has come up with a much easier way and quicker way of finding out this information. All you need to is log into your Sky router by typing into your browser 192.168.0.1 and then entering in the username admin and password sky.
The next step is to enter the following url into your browser
http://192.168.0.1/setup.cgi?todo=ping_test&c4_IPAddr=&/bin/grep+ppoa_+/tmp/nvram+>+/www/netgear.cfg
Once you have done that enter in http://192.168.0.1/netgear.cfg and save the file to your pc. Open the file with a text editor such as Wordpad and you will see your Sky Username and Password listed.
