All seems reasonable, I guess that they are contracted to do it.
I've used NPower, British Gas and Scottish Power as my suppliers over the last few years.
Why have Eon addressed the letter to "miss ***** ****
* or the current occupier"? Is it because it's nothing to do with my current supplier?

Because your meter operator does not always have up to date records of who the current occupier is.0

I has similar when my meter was changed.
As this was a new build I was the first occupier, so the only name on the books so to speak, but it was still addressed "to the occupier"
Was just the mandatory meter change0 -
we had this a few years ago, think the letter came from the original local supplier and doesnt matter who you are with now0

You'll probably find that the database used for meter changes is'nt as up to date as the billing one....bearing in mind that it could have been 20 years plus since the meter was last recertified. Happens quite regularly, make sure you get the person doing the job to update the info.0

Hi tomstickland
Already some good advice on here. Certainly sounds like a statutory meter change.
If we are the distributor for your area we will be responsible for the meter. Therefore, once it approaches the end of the manufacturer's guarantee we will contact you to arrange a replacement.
Sorry we have not addressed the letter correctly. As other posters have said, our records are probably out of date. As dunloadin says, ask the engineer to update the info we hold.
