Where to find old table and chairs?

Can anyone help me, I'm not too sure where to look.

I'm after an old table and chairs. When I say old, I mean perhaps left outside for some time, for left in a garage and forgotton about.

I'am after these to decorate and use as garden furniture.

I don't really want to pay much as I'm going to be changing them anyway.

I've looked on my local Freecycle, and put a wanted ad. I've also checked the ad trader and ebay.

The problem is, people are generally selling good quality furniture and there for want £50+ for them.

If anyone knows anywhere either online or in Oxfordshire/Berkshire (or has one they don't want) please let me know.

I've run out of ideas. My husband has offered to make one from scratch, but I think that'll be more expensive in the long run.

Thanks for your help

Your local dump might be worth a look. Speak to the guys that work there, see if they've got anything or can contact you if they do get something. You could place wanted ads in your local paper or shop windows too. Car-boot sales might be worth a look too. You sometimes get furniture down there. There's a guy who sells at Rickmansworth st. who does house-clearance and sells all the stuff that isn't good enough for second-hand shops at the car-boot sale. I guess that's really what you need to find - someone who does house clearances. Wherever you look I think you'll have trouble getting a set though.

I wonder where our landlord gets his furniture from. It really is the pits. Low quality and worn. Our dining room table is mega wobly and the top is made from uneven planks of wood with big gaps between them. He didn't even supply any chairs to go with it. I bought some from a car-boot sale.
